First they released a budget with no numbers. Hilarity ensued.
Then they said they were just kidding: their real budget would come out on April Fool’s Day. Skeptics remained skeptical.
Now the rollout begins. From The American Spectator:
This morning Congressman Paul Ryan, the ranking Republican on the House Budget Committee, will release the GOP alternative budget, which will come up for a vote on the House floor. This budget will have complete and thorough numbers scored by CBO. The difference between Obama’s budget and this budget is like the difference between Che Guevara and George Washington. [Emphasis added]
Yikes! Republicans are certainly trying to ramp up the wingnut hyteria. But if their numbers don’t come close to adding up, it will be another victory for Democrats. The media doesn’t like to be played for suckers twice in one week.
As George W. Bush once tried to say, “Fool me once. . .you can’t get fooled again!”
