The teabagger revolution has fizzled out already, but it looks like Glenn Beck is there to pick up the pieces. My sources in the bookstores tell me that angry, zombified wingnuts are showing up in droves to buy his latest call-to-action, Common Sense (sic). The man sure knows how to take charge of a leaderless mob.
I enjoy talk radio, but I don’t quite get Glenn Beck. He has a decent sense of humor (unlike, say, Bill O’Reilly, who is the least funny man in the history of broadcasting), but he takes himself awfully seriously these days. He’d better be careful. Today an admittedly armed and clearly dangerous woman called his show to tell him she had planted a vegetable garden and was thinking of buying live chickens in preparation for a literal War Against Obama. Instead of talking her down from the ledge, Beck delivered a rambling, incoherent speech about how everyone needed to follow his or her “spirit” in these troubled times. Play with fire much?
Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity host entertaining wingnut radio shows by simply playing the buffoon. Glenn Beck should do the same.
Are you kidding Glenn actually says things that are useful. Unless you listen with a closed mind. He is saying that the government is out of control. If you can’t think for yourself then president b.o. is right up your alley.
