Two Question For Lloyd Blankfein

I’m watching a hearing of the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission on C-SPAN.  Here’s what I want the commissioners to ask the Goldman Sachs chief and his pals:

1) Is every aspect of your business truly productive in our capitalist system?

2) Many people in Washington worry about the federal budget deficit.  If the government were to tax your industry and its employees to such an extent that it reduced the profitability some of your investment strategies, would that necessarily be a bad thing?  Is “what’s good for Goldman Sachs” always good for the country?

I’m not holding my breath waiting for any answers.
