Political Percentages (Health Care Edition)

Chance that the Democratic health care bill will pass within a week: 90%

Chance that Republicans will someday be able to repeal it: 0%

Republicans who will campaign this year promising to repeal health care reform: 98% 

Republicans who will do so in 2012: 20%

Republicans who will do so in 2014: 1%

Democrats voting “no” on health care who will regret it in November: 75%

Republicans voting “no” on health care who will regret it in November: N/A (They couldn’t vote “yes” if they wanted to.  They’d get primaried to death, if not actually physically assaulted by their base. )

Barack Obama’s approval rating in May: 55% (up from 48%)

Congress’s approval rating in May: 25% (up from 17%)

Chance that Rush Limbaugh will carry out his threat to move to Costa Rica, thereby taking advantage of that country’s excellent system of socialized medicine: 0%

Chance that John Boehner’s tan does not come out of a tube: 5%
