BREAKING: Arizona Lawmaker Seeks Crackdown On “Teabaggers”

REUTERS — An Arizona state senator has introduced a bill requiring police to determine whether a person is a member of the Tea Party Movement.

Phoenix Democrat Robert Ruiz argues that “teabaggers” — as he refers to Tea Party adherents — have a propensity for violence and are likely to own firearms.  “I view this as a precautionary measure,” he told reporters.  “I want to make sure these people are obeying our gun laws.”

“What’s the big deal?” Ruiz said.  “From now on, if you’re reading a Glenn Beck book and driving around with a teabagger bumper sticker, you’re going to be a red flag for Arizona law enforcement.  So get used to it.  We don’t want some Timothy McVeigh wannabe going off half-cocked in downtown Tucson.”

When asked if his proposed legislation might violate the Fourth Amendment of the United States Constitution, which prohibits unreasonable search and seizure, Ruiz said, “Maybe you haven’t noticed, but nobody in this state gives a flying f—k about the Constitution.  It’s been shredded.”

Governor Jan Brewer is already promising to veto the Ruiz bill should it reach her desk.  “The police have enough work to do rounding up alleged Mexicans,” said one of her aides.
