BREAKING: Florida Governor To Bulldoze I-95

REUTERS — Following his rejection of federal money for a high-speed rail project, Florida Gov. Rick Scott vowed to close Interstate 95 and turn the property over to a consortium of private developers.

“We simply have to tighten our belts, live within our means, spend the taxpayers money wisely, and . . . something else,” said the governor.

When asked what he expected Floridians to drive on, Scott said, “It’s not up to government to make those decisions.  Let the private sector handle it.

“Ponce de Leon didn’t need a gold-plated federal highway to get to Key West,” the governor continued.  “I’m sure grandma and grandpa will figure something out.”
