How Does He Sleep?

I’m still scouring this internets looking for a single sacrifice that Republicans have asked corporations and wealthy Americans to make while the rest of us “tighten our belts”.  Feel free, teabaggers, to enlighten me.

Meanwhile, Wonder Boy wants to tighten the noose around his favorite victims:

It is no great surprise that House GOP budget maven, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), is expected to announce the GOP plan to cut $1 trillion in Medicaid over the next ten years.  While these cuts will bring devastating consequences to the nation’s poor and disabled, protecting the needs of the poor has never been a priority with the GOP.

  1. One thing interesting thing about Ryan is his plan for Medicare is similar to one of the main ideas of health care reform. Giving people a subsidy to purchase insurance in the market through an exchange. However Ryan says his plan will save money and the other one will not. It is 100% politics.

  2. Republicans want to privatize Medicare the same way they want to privatize public education: by destroying it. They’ll give people a “voucher” that doesn’t come close to covering the cost of the insurance they have to buy. It’s just another subsidy for the wealthy. (And if you think Republicans will ever regulate the greed of the insurance companies, you haven’t been paying attention.)

    • Definitely agree with that. Even if they had their way and health care reform was not the law of the land, regulating insurance companies would be far from enough anyway. I think the fact that they have never come within a country mile of reforming the system says enough, and they always say America has the best health care SYSTEM in the world. Why reform something that is the best in the world?
