In Romney Lie Number Eleven, Mitt tries to sound earnest while he lies his ass off by quoting Barack Obama completely out of context:
I just want to say it exactly as he said it. Speaking about small business and businesses of all kind, he said this: “If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.”
(When Obama said, “You didn’t build that,” he was, of course, referring to the nation’s infrastructure, not to a business.)
Lie Number Eleven bubbled up this week from the fever swamps of the Republican right as the mouth-breathers desperately averted their eyes from Mitt’s tax return shitstorm. Romney looked upon the lie, saw that it was good, and began spewing it.
But he’s still in trouble.
